Engineering Projects
Highlighting some of the complex designs and builds that I've worked on over the past few years
I've received various awards for my academic standing, including Valedictorian, the Bosch and Lomb Science Award, and the Fenn Brothers Innovation Award, which I received for one of my engineering projects titled "Passenger Seat Tray Table," in which I created an integrative desk that serves as a workspace for the passenger seat of car. More on this project can be found under the "Engineering Projects" page.
I'm currently a member of the Harvard Varsity Women's Lacrosse team, where I play defense. I am also a part of the leadership team for our youth partnership, Team IMPACT (whose mission is to match children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved), in which I help organize and coordinate team activities to build community with our Team IMPACT player, Tilly!
Before Harvard, I competed for NXT, a club lacrosse team based out of Philadelphia, noted as completing our final season as #1 ranked club team in the nation. In addition, I also played for a local club team based in Minnesota, where I'm from.
This summer, I spent two months volunteering in rural Vietnam through a program for varsity athletes called Coach for College, where I taught 8th and 9th grade students various school subjects including physics, biology, and life skills. In addition to teaching, I also coached students in basketball and baseball! This was such an amazing program because it allowed me to experience a whole new culture that is completely different from what I'm used to, and I'm so grateful to have met so many brilliant kids. They taught me so much about their lifestyle and even taught me some Vietnamese!
